National News: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may soon get a new national president. According to media reports, this big change can be made around Independence Day, i.e., 15 August. The current president, JP Nadda, has been in this position since January 2020, and his term was extended till the 2024 general elections so that he could lead the party. Now that the elections are over, the party is looking for a new president.
Let us tell you that BJP and its ideological parent organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), have not yet finalized any name. However, the party wants to make such a person the president who has deep experience of the organization and who is connected to the basic ideas of the party.
Former Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's name is considered to be at the top among the potential candidates. He comes from Odisha, where the BJP has formed the government for the first time. Pradhan has deep experience in the organization, and his becoming the president can further strengthen the party in eastern India.
The name of Union Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav is also in the news. He comes from Ajmer in Rajasthan and is currently an MP from Alwar. He is considered close to Amit Shah and plays an important role in the party's strategy.
The name of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has also come up. He is currently the Agriculture Minister in the Narendra Modi government. He has a strong support base, and he understands the party organization deeply.
Another name that has come into the limelight recently is that of senior BJP leader BD Sharma. He has an influential position in the party and is considered a dedicated leader towards the organization.
Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is also being counted among the possible names. He has run the government in the state for a long time, and his hold in the organization is considered good.
According to a report, the list is not final yet, and the party can appoint a surprising face as the president at the last moment. BJP is often known for such decisions, which are beyond the expectations of the people.
